The Tick Report

TickReport is a laboratory service that tests ticks to identify their species and detect disease-causing pathogens, helping individuals assess their risk after a tick bite. Users can mail in a tick sample and receive detailed, private results, often within 1–3 days indicating whether the tick carried bacteria, viruses, or parasites linked to tick-borne diseases.

The service is designed to provide risk information, not a medical diagnosis, and can support more informed decisions about follow-up care. In addition to individual results, anonymized data from submitted ticks contributes to broader public health research on when, where, and how tick-borne diseases occur.

TickReport serves as both a personal testing resource and a tool for improving understanding of tick-borne disease risk.
